Police arrest two as town faces rash of break-ins

Incumbents re-elected in School Committee and Selectmen races

  The town of Norton is seeing some changes based on the results of the town election that took place on Tuesday, April 24.
  After all the votes were counted and the results tabulated only 11% of the total number of eligible voters took part in the town election that included a number of re-elections and whether or not to change the town clerk and water and sewer commission to appointed positions.
  There were a number of uncontested races that were on the ballot just last week. Those races included the Board of Assessors, the Housing Authority, the Planning Board, the Town Clerk and two Water and Sewer Commission positions...

 Sometimes it seems that talking about the simple issues can involve becoming a major politician. This is what happened when the Sharon LakeManagement Committee met with the Sharon Board of Selectmen to discuss a Town Meeting article that proposes to ban dogs from all of the town’s beaches.

Deciding where ‘adult’ shops can locate

 Among budget recommendations and whether or not to ban dogs at Memorial Beach Sharon voters will have a chance to determine where adult use shops may be able to locate within the boundaries of Sharon’s borders.
  Article 23, weighing in at a lengthy eight pages, goes on to define what “adult use” shops are and where they can be situated. The rest of the article goes into laborious detail about what an “adult use” shop may or may not due while requiring the establishment to apply for a special permit every year.
